Kenya Safaris: Home of the Safari
The birthplace of the word safari and still its finest stage. From the predator-rich Maasai Mara and the drama of the Great Migration to elephant herds beneath Kilimanjaro, Kenya delivers the classic East African plains experience.

Why visit Kenya
Kenya is where the safari was born, and it remains the definitive African plains experience. From the predator-rich Maasai Mara to elephant herds beneath Mount Kilimanjaro, it delivers the classic big-game spectacle in glorious open country.
Every year the Mara hosts the climax of the Great Migration, when over a million wildebeest cross crocodile-filled rivers. Add flamingo-pink lakes, vibrant Maasai culture and a polished tourism infrastructure, and Kenya is a bucket-list standard.

Kenya safari FAQs
When is the Great Migration in the Maasai Mara?
The herds are typically in the Mara from July to October, when the dramatic Mara River crossings occur. Timing shifts each year with the rains.
Do I need a 4x4 or can I fly?
Both work. Driving is scenic and economical; flying into the Mara by light aircraft saves a long road day and is popular for shorter or luxury trips.
Is Kenya good for first-time safari-goers?
Excellent. Open plains, high wildlife density and superb infrastructure make Kenya one of the easiest and most rewarding first safaris.
Can I combine Kenya with gorilla trekking?
Yes. We regularly combine Kenya's plains with gorillas in Rwanda or Uganda via Nairobi for an unforgettable two-country journey.
